211 - Laurie Moves Out 211 - Laurie Moves Out

Seizoen 2 Seizoen 2

Laurie's moving out, and Red, ever protective of his little girl, isn't sure it's a good idea, but Kitty says she'll be fine. Eric wants to move into Laurie's bedroom, but Hyde has already claimed it. Kelso's thrilled that Laurie's getting her own place, but Laurie quickly sets him straight with the warning that he's never to come near her place. Kelso asks if she's breaking up with him, and she responds that there's nothing between them to break. Later, in Jackie's presence, Laurie returns a t-shirt to Kelso saying that she found it in her room. Jackie points out that his name is sewn in it when Kelso tries to deny that the shirt is his. Jackie tells Donna she's afraid that Kelso might be cheating on her with Laurie, and Donna doesn't know what to say. Fez teases Hyde that his new room is extremely girly. Red, worried about Laurie, drags Eric along as he takes a smoke detector for her new apartment. When a guy in boxer shorts answers the door, Red thinks they have the wrong apartment, but Eric asks if Laurie's around, and she appears in a bathrobe. Red, extremely upset, gives Kitty the news that Laurie's living with a boy; Kitty isn't surprised. At least it's only one guy, she says. Jackie's suspicious, and Kelso's nervous; Hyde tells him to learn from Watergate - complete denial is the only answer. Fez disagrees and suggests that Kelso tell Jackie the truth; if he loses her to another guy, then no hard feelings. Kitty tries to get Red to calm down; she's invited Laurie over to dinner that evening, because she's still part of the family. Red protests that he's not ready for that, but Kitty gives him no choice. Dinner is tense with Eric cracking jokes, Hyde waiting for Red to yell at Laurie, Red leaving the room and Kitty telling a defensive Laurie that she should have told them the truth. Kelso tries to act innocent with Jackie, and she accepts his story but tells him that if he's lying she will find out and things will be much worse later than if he confesses now. Kitty tells Red that he's being too hard on Laurie; she's an adult now and not a perfect one, but you have to love your kids, even if they're doing something you don't like. Red makes his peace with Laurie who announces she's moving back home. When they're alone, Kitty asks Laurie if the guy kicked her out. Laurie says he moved back in with his wife.
